I enjoy having purposeful family time during holidays. It allows us all to enjoy a shared experience and bring meaning to what might otherwise be a very busy day. My love for recipes and food traditions tends to dictate that our family time is spent around the table.
This morning we had a quiet family breakfast before heading out to our Easter celebration. I fixed our traditional cardamom bread with some non-traditional chocolate, kefir, banana and pineapple smoothies. We had a pot of Rwanda tea and some sausages from the German Butchery. The table was fantastically cluttered with pots, jars, plates, mugs, cups, napkins and cutlery. Juba waited patiently beside Ellie Jo’s high chair for any stray bits of food. Dustin Kensrue played on the computer.
Our little family ate, laughed, talked and enjoyed being together. What more could a momma ask for on an Easter morning?
