Updates on the Mother’s Day Fire
We’ve learned a few things since the fire on Sunday.
The big mystery from the fire was “Why did the fire go out when our neighbor threw water on it?” Electrical fires are NOT supposed to do that. Well…the Crowsons told us that all of the power to our neighborhood went out for about 10 minutes right during that time period. So the neighbor wasn’t throwing water on an electrical fire after all. At that moment the fire was simply burning the wall and the box.
It is possible to cut power to the house. I think the electrician showed Robin how.
The Kigali fire brigade was late to the fire because, “You did not have people at the intersections telling us how to get here.” They also wanted an apology for making them come to a house without an active fire.
We should be back into the house by the end of the week. The electrician has promised to have everything rewired in about two days. I’ll keep you updated on the progress!
