Lake Bunyonyi (Part 1)

Any good travel series *must* start with food.

Byoona Amagara is *known* for their food…oh boy did we get lucky.

Pictured is our favorite thing on the menu: the Smile Bunyonyi pizza. It has a chapatti crust, oregano-heavy tomato sauce, pineapples, crayfish and lots of local gouda cheese.

We also tried apple fritters, veggie pasta, French onion soup, potato soup, chips, American pancakes, crepes, crayfish in an avocado, the fruit bowl and the garlic toast. All this food seemed exotic in a place where rice and meat sauce seem to be the staple foods served at “backpacker” accommodations. We just couldn’t get over the options at every meal. Aaand that meant that we ate way too much, but, hey, that’s what vacations are for, right?
